by INN Terrorists to be Released on Sunday at Beitunia Checkpoint
Over 400 terrorists will be released on Sunday at the Beitunia checkpoint near Ramallah. 16 terrorists from Gaza will be released at the Erez crossing.
The cabinet approved the prisoner release as a “good-will gesture” to Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas. Many of the prisoners were convicted of planting bombs, throwing firebombs at cars, and other forms of attempted murder.
Eight terrorists were removed from the release list after it became clear that they had switched their allegiance from Fatah to rival terrorist group Hamas during their time in prison. Another was removed because he had attempted to escape prison.
