Tel Aviv - Palestinian militants launched another volley of rockets and mortar shells at southern Israel early on Wednesday evening, Israel Radio reported.
AT least 13 more projectiles landed after sunset in the Israeli town of Sderot, just north-east of the Strip, and its surroundings, as well as near the southern Israeli port city of Ashqelon.
A woman was lightly injured after being struck by a car while running for shelter from the heavy barrage, while at least six other Israelis were treated for shock.
An Israeli military spokesperson said militants fired a total of at least 47 projectiles from Gaza at Israel on Wednesday, at least 28 of them rockets, eight mortars and another 11 which had yet to be traced and identified.
Palestinians launched a similar number Tuesday, revenging the killing of 19 people in the heaviest Israeli-Palestinian fighting in Gaza in more than a year.
The 22-year-old son of senior Hamas leader and former Palestinian foreign minister Mahmoud al-Zahar was among the dead in the heavy fighting east of Gaza City Tuesday.
Hamas claimed responsibility Wednesday morning for launching 60 of its own Qassam rockets, in addition to 75 mortars and three rocket-propelled grenades. - Sapa-DPA
